I have announced a 10 day fast for this Easter Season. It will be a time for deliverance from all those areas where the kingdom of darkness has oppressed us over the years. Passover was the season where God delivered the Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt. He instructed the Israelites to commemorate this deliverance annually. Jesus also instructed His disciples to “do this in remembrance of me”. I believe strongly that as we observe this year’s Passover season, God would bring renewed deliverance from demonic oppression to His children who wait upon Him.
Fasting simply means abstinence. During Passover, the Israelites were to refrain from adding yeast to their bread. Jesus described yeast as the essence of hypocrisy. It is anything that bloats up the real appearance of something. Yeast makes bread look bigger than it should. It symbolizes deception. As we all know, the devil is the chief of deception. All his schemes are carefully plotted to manipulate our minds into accepting the tokens by which he enslaves us in a subtle way. Most often we are not aware of those things by which he gains access to our lives. These are points of contact also known as demonic tokens. When the devil plants a token in your life, it becomes his legal access to your life. As Jesus said: “The thief cometh not but for to steal, to kill and destroy. But I have come that you might have life and life more abundantly”
During these 10 days of fasting which starts on Thursday March 22, 2018, I encourage you to pay attention to the leading of the Holy Spirit concerning those things you must abstain from. Also the time frame for your personal daily fast as well as the particular kinds of food substance that you should consume during the fast. During the fast it is important that you pay attention to the Holy Spirit and remain in compliance because that is how deliverance comes. The purpose of general abstinence from food is the first step to create an atmosphere of spiritual sensitivity to the ministry of the Holy Spirit so it is important that the consequent instructions are fully obeyed so we can enjoy the victory that come from the fast.
The Lord grant you unusual grace not only to fast but to be compliant with all those direct instructions of the Holy Spirit that would break every demonic yoke in Jesus Name. The Lord grant you to experience resurrection power in all areas of your life in Jesus Name!
